Viafilm Production is currently filming season 2 for NRK, both in English and Norwegian languages.

Season one of the 6x30’ Viking spoof comedy Vikingane (Norsemen) created/directed by Jon Iver Helgaker and Jonas Torgersen had a successful run on NRK last autumn and won Best Comedy series at the Norwegian Gullruten awards (local Emmies) last month. The cross between Game of Thrones and Monthy Python tells of the daily life of a small Viking community in 790 AD.

Producer Anders Tangen of Viafilm is supervising filming of season 2 for NRK, with the Norwegian actors (including Trond Fausa Aurvåg, Kåre Conradi, Silje Torp) playing both in English and Norwegian for two language versions shot simultaneously.

Nordic World is bringing the Norwegian show to the 100 international TV professionals attending Reykjavik’s Scandinavian Screening this week (June 06-08) alongside TV2 Danmark’s smash hit Badehotellet (Seaside Hotel) season 1-2-3-4 produced by SF Studios Production Denmark, and TV4’s comedy Ack Värmland (Small Town Love) (season 1-2) produced by Bob Film.

Among the factual programmes for sale is The Homeless Experience (Petter Uteligger) produced by Teddy TV, winner of Best Docu series and the Viewers award at the Gullruten award. The series in which social activist Petter Nyquist lived for two months on the streets of Oslo, documenting ‘the homeless experience’ had 700,000 average viewers on TV2 Norway. Nyquist has directed a sequel, The Homeless Experience: Into the Wild (Fra gata til Nordkapp) also represented by Nordic World.
