Nordisk Film & TV Fond is proud to announce that after two years online due to the pandemic, the 22nd Nordic Talents Pitch competition, talent scouting and networking event, will be back at the National Film School of Denmark, host and partner.

Why Apply?

  • Nordic Talents is the only Nordic Pitch Competition where freshly graduation film students from the Nordics can win either the NOK250,000 Nordic Talents Pitch Prize or NOK50,000 Special Mention Prize as development funding for their first fiction, documentary, animation or series project.
  • Nordic Talents is a unique opportunity for graduation students to network with 200+ fellow graduates and key decision-makers in a relaxed atmosphere, as well as for industry people to spot the next writing, directing and producing talents from the Nordics.

Three former Nordic Talents attendees and winners are selected in Cannes this year: Ali Abbasi (Holy Spider), Mikko Myllylahti (The Woodcutter’s Story) and Hlynur Pálmason (Godland).

The latter who won a Nordic Talents Special Mention in 2013 for the idea of his debut feature Winter Brothers, said: “It’s always a good feeling when there is a platform that takes your work seriously. When you are fresh out of school, you somehow need exposure and a place to screen your work and have a dialogue. Nordic Talent is a good place to have this dialogue. Winning an award is a surplus and we used it for the development and preparation for Winter Brothers.”

Besides the centrepiece Pitch Competition, Nordic Talents includes:

  • A Pitch Training with experienced tutors Valeria Richter (creative producer/scriptwriter/pitch & script coach, Nordic Factory Cph) and Paul Tyler (creative consultant, Handling Ideas)
  • A Producers’ Pitch from 10-12 established Nordic producers
  • Graduation film screenings
  • A case study or masterclass (TBC)
  • Networking opportunities
  • An Award ceremony, to be held September 8

The names of the five prominent Nordic Talents jury members and the full programme will be announced in the coming weeks.
