Roar Uthaug’s disaster film The Wave won the Amanda for Best Norwegian Film, as well as Best Sound Design and Visual Effects. The film sold more than 830,000 tickets in Norway.
Welcome to Norway’s main actors Anders Baasmo Christiansen and newcomer Olivier Mukuta (real life refugee turned actor for the film) both received an Amanda for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor respectively. “This award is for all refugees there who are trying everything they can to get a better life.
