SFI to Spotlight 10 Swedish talents to watch in Göteborg

Actress-turned director Nanna Blondell and Naures Sager (Haugesund Best Pitch for Love Pill) are among the pitchers set to take centre stage at the Nordic Film Market February 2.

The new networking and talent-spotting initiative is supervised by Josef Kullengård, Head of Industry at the Göteborg Film Festival and Lina Norberg Johansson, Talent Manager at the Swedish Film Institute (SFI), in charge of the institute’s Talent to Watch.

The talent incubator is a three-year programme set up to help new creators and talents in Sweden the opportunity to develop and establish themselves in the Swedish film industry.

The ten feature projects selected have already been granted development support by regional film bodies in Sweden, as part of the SFI’s ‘Talent to Watch’.

Norberg Johansson says ‘Talent to Watch’ is “a unique collaboration with the country's film regions, where local talent has been developed over a couple of years, in different parts of the country”…”Anyone looking for original stories and interesting new voices should come to this pitch.”

Kullengård describes the selected projects as “an exciting line-up of feature film projects from all over Sweden, with an equally challenging and entertaining mix of stories and perspectives, with good international potential.”

The pitching session February 2, 2023 will be moderated by trade journalist and film festival consultant Wendy Mitchell.
