The Bamse character has been featured in several cartoons and 500 comic books are still read by 100,000 kids each month, but this is the first time the beloved character always ready to help those in need, will have his own voice on screen, with famous actors currently being cast. Producer Jon Nordstedt says Tre Vänner's vision is ‘to make a modern feature film about Bamse that all fans will identify with'.
The animation project based on an original script written by Johan Kindblom and Tomas Tivemark is co-produced by Nordisk Film, SVT, Film i Väst, Sluggerfilm and BAMSE Publisher, with support from the Swedish Film Institute and Nordisk Film & TV Fond. The domestic release schedule for Christmas 2013 will be handled by Nordisk Film and TrustNordisk is in charge of international sales.
