The producer of the crime series Cell 8 and comedy R.S.V.P. will take up her new position January 1st, 2024 in replacement of Max Hallén.
Peter Bose, CEO of Fremantle-owned Miso Film said he is pleased that Wolgers has accepted to take over the position as MD in Sweden. “Rachel has been a part of the Miso team for more than five years and as a skilled producer of several successful shows and with a background from distribution, I’m sure she will continue the success and growth of Miso Film Sweden.”
Bose also thanked the outgoing MD Hallén for leading “the company through difficult times with a safe hand.”
The Miso Film group has indeed been hit in recent years by the drastic reduction of orders notably from streamers, following the Create Denmark crisis and Viaplay collapse, and had to cut its staff by a quarter in 2022, according to Mediawatch. But the production powerhouse headed by senior producers and co-founders Bose and Jonas Allen, remains one of the main providers of high-end Scandinavian content.
Recent Miso Film Sweden shows include HBO Max Original’s Lust starring Sofia Helin, Anja Lundqvist, Julia Dufvenius, Viaplay Originals’ R.S.V.P. created by Moa Gammel and Cell 8 based on Roslund & Hellström’s crime novels.
Currently in production is the anticipated series Faithless ordered by SVT and Arte.
