Nearly 20 international experts including Andrew Lowe, producer of Oscar-winning film The Favourite will attend the 8th Nordic producers training and networking event.

The 2019 Young Nordic Producers Club co-organised by Noemi Ferrer (Head of International at The Danish Film Institute) and Tina Wagner Sørensen (Head of Post Graduate Training at The National Film School of Denmark) will unspool May 17-20 in Cannes.  As always top industry experts in production, co-financing, sales, marketing, distribution and festivals will share their know-how with around 24 young promising Nordic producers.

Andrew Lowe, CEO at Ireland’s Element Films will give this year’s inspirational talk on Monday May 20. He will discuss his company and the making of the multi award-winning film The Favourite for which Olivia Colman won an Academy Award 2019 for Best Actress.

Other expected guest speakers include film sales specialists Jan Naszewski of New Europe Film Sales, Gabor Greiner of Films Boutique, and Tine Klint of LevelK. SF Studios’ Head of International Anita Simovic will discuss financing, sales and distribution with Tim King, EVP at SF Studios. Co-production markets and Festival programming will be introduced by Inke van Loocke, CineMart-Rotterdam Lab Manager, Mercedes Fernandez from Torino Filmlab, Anne Lai, Creative Producing Initiative Director at Sundance Feature Film Programme, and Kathi Bildjauer, programmer of Talent Project at the Berlinale Co-Production Market. Wolf PR’s Laurin Dietrich and Screen International’s Nordic correspondent Wendy Mitchell will examine Press, PR and Marketing strategies, Peter Bille Krogh of the European Collection Agency revenue management and collection and script consultant Stephen Cleary will discuss low budget filmmaking.
