Banijay Entertainment, controlled by French media mogul Stephane Courbit, has added Nordisk Film TV (NFTV) and its partly-owned subsidiaries Respirator Media & Development in Denmark and Solar Television in Finland to its fast growing international network of content creators and distributors for television and multimedia platforms.

With a consolidated turnover of more than €50 million and around 1,500 hours of programmes produced each year, NFTV is one of Northern Europe's largest creators of entertainment, serial drama, factual and reality programmes. Among its own successful reality formats are My Big Fat Parents and 71 Degrees North. At the last MIPCOM, its multi-platform climate project 100 Places to Remember Before They Disappear was sold to over ten broadcasters including TV4 Sweden, SBS Australia, N24 Germany, and Discovery USA. The deal with Banijay also covers Nordisk Film TV's international distribution arm Nordisk Film TV World which licences finished programmes (from the Nordic region and elsewhere) around the world.

As part of the deal, NFTV's CEO Jacob Houlind and CCO Peter Hansen will remain attached to the company under Banijay's new ownership. NFTV will continue to operate under its current brand name.
