Nordic film graduates are invited to apply for the Pitch Competition which gives 15 projects a chance to win the NOK 250,000 Pitch Prize and NOK 50,000 Special Mention.

Nordic Talents will take place September 6-7, 2023 at the National Film School of Denmark.

Project submission opens May 9 and closes June 1st at 13.00 CET.

The annual event organised by Nordisk Film & TV Fond in collaboration with the National Film School of Denmark, is the only Nordic Pitch Competition where newly graduated film students from the Nordics can win either the NOK 250,000 Nordic Talents Pitch Prize or NOK 50,000 Special Mention Prize as development funding for their first fiction, documentary, animation, hybrid feature or series project.

Nordic Talents is a must-attend event for talent scouting and networking between Nordic film students and film industry delegates, held in the warm and relaxed atmosphere of the National Film School of Denmark.

Established directors who jump-started their careers at Nordic Talents include Hlynur Pálmason (Godland), May el-Toukhy (Queen of Hearts), Marja Pyykkö (Paradise), Gustav Möller (The Guilty), Kerren Lumer-Klabbers (The Architect) and Maria Bäck (Psychosis in Stockholm).

Last year’s winner of the Nordic Talents Pitch Prize was Finnish director Jesse Jalonen for his comedy feature Return and Exchange while the Special Mention Prize was handed out to Norwegian writer Sunniva Kviteberg and director Håkon Anton Olavsen for the feature project Titanic Club.

Last year’s jury members included Danish director/writer/actress Charlotte Sieling, Wild Bunch TV Head of Sales and Acquisitions Diana Bartha, NRK’s Head of Drama Marianne Furevold-Boland, director Carl Javér from Vilda Bomben, Sweden, and producer Ilka Matila from MRP Matila Röhr Productions, Finland.
