The Swedish actor will play against Julia Ragnarsson in the financial thriller series produced by FLX for C More/TV4. Filming starts later this month.
Varela had his break through in TV4’s soap Nya tider (‘New Times’). He then appeared in the local film series Easy Money (for which he earned Guldbagge nominations in 2013 and 2014), in the series Arne Dahl, The Fat & the Angry and international series The Borgias and Narcos.
In the 8x60’ series Blinded (Fartblinda), he will play Peder Rooth, the CEO of ST Bank, involved in irregular financial activities. Ragnarsson is the young journalist Bea Farkas, investigating the bank’s murky activities, whose work will put a lot of people at great risk.
The series is based on a book by investigative journalist Carolina Neurath, inspired by the true fall of HQ Bank in Sweden.
The original book is based on a screenplay by Jesper Harrie (2018 Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize nominee), written in collaboration with Maria Karlsson and Jonas Bonnier. All3media handles world distribution.
