The seasoned European TV executive will take up her role September 1st, reporting to Nordisk Film Production CEO Katrine Vogelsang.

Muselaers is a heavyweight player in acquisition and co-financing of Nordic scripted content through Benelux Group Lumière, where she currently holds the position Chief Content & Partnership Officer. She is also a popular moderator at industry events and part of Göteborg TV Drama Vision’s advisory board.

For her newly created position at Nordisk Film Production, she will be based in Stockholm and join the Scandinavian group’s management team.

Her hiring is a major coup for Nordisk Film, which signals the integrated group’s ambition to up its stakes across film and TV drama for its in-house productions and co-productions in Denmark, Norway and Sweden, and to tighten its ties with local, Nordic and global partners.

“I am delighted that Marike Muselaers has agreed to come on board,” said Vogelsang, who herself joined Nordisk Film less than a year ago from her key position as TV2 Denmark’s Head of Drama - see our story here: Katrine Vogelsang named CEO at Nordisk Film Production.

“Marike brings extensive experience in international financing, co-productions, acquisitions and business development. At Nordisk Film Production, we want to strengthen the financing of our projects and increasingly be a strong and solid production partner with other companies. Marike will play a key role in this,” she underlined.

Muselaers added: “I am thrilled to join Katrine and the Nordisk Film Production team on this journey to create even more engaging and unmissable films and series. In this complex market, collaborations are key, and connecting the best storytellers with the right partners is something close to my heart. I am therefore looking forward to helping Nordisk Film Production realize their renewed ambition to not just bring stories to life, but make them happen through more Nordic, European and global partnerships.”
