Trust Me (Puss in Swedish) will reunite Kling with Michelle Meadows and Mikael Segerström, the two lead actors from his acclaimed director debut Darling, for which Segerström won Best Actor at the Guldbagge Awards last year. Other big names to join the ensemble cast in the film set in a small theatre in Stockholm include Gustav and Alexander Skarsgård. "Unlike Darling, Trust Me is a comedy, but it will still have Johan Kling's slightly cynical but warm tone," said Mathilde Dedye who produces with Fredrik Heinig for St Paul Film. The film was awarded SEK7m from the SFI.
Vegas is a new youth film by the acclaimed director of Falling Sky and Trigger, Gunnar Vikene and is based on a script co-written with Torun Lian. The teenage drama set in an emergency shelter for youth, is currently shooting in Bergen, Norway. Vegas is produced by Silje Hopland Eik and Tanya Nanette Badendyck (Cinenord) with Maria Ekerhovd from the newly established Bergen-based Kong Film, in co-production with Cinenord Stockholm AB. The film was granted SEK 1.1m from the SFI.
Mr Landshövding (The Governor) produced by Martin Persson for Anagram Produktion, focuses on the Swedish politician Anders Björck, governor of the county of Uppsala, and his struggle to uphold the values and traditions of an office defined 400 years ago. The documentary was awarded SEK 1m.
