Rúnarsson is one of Iceland’s most talented directors. His short film The Last Farm was nominated for an Oscar in 2008 and his second feature film Sparrows collected approximately 20 international awards, including a Golden Shell in San Sebastian 2015. The coming of age film is also representing Iceland at the prestigious Nordic Council Film Prize to be handed out on November 1, 2016.
The Icelandic/Danish/Croatian co-production was produced by Mikkel Jersin for Nimbus Film, with support from Nordisk Film & TV Fond.
