The solid creative team includes The Bridge writer Veronica Zacco, Thin Blue Line director Anders Hazelius and Swedish singer/songwriter Danny Saucedo in his first series appearance.

B-Reel Films’ Anna-Klara Carlsten (Exodus, Thunder in My Heart) is producing, with Viaplay’s Sara Askelöf serving as executive producer.

The eight-part series Scener efter ett äktenskap (Scenes after a Marriage) is set in a local pub where a recently separated couple meet every Friday to drop off their children. Lovis (Eva Röse) and Kian (Ardalan Esmaili) are trying to cope with their emotions and separation in their own way.

Lovis is forced to take on greater responsibility and become a more present mother. Kian's career has suddenly taken off, which boosts his confidence. But how do they deal with the sexual tension still alive between them? Can love bloom again or is it too late?

The ensemble cast also takes in Idol 2006 finalist Danny Saucedo as the bartender Bobby, Ann Petrén as Lovi's mother, and Malou Marnfeldt (Thin Blue Line) as Kian’s new girlfriend.

“The title of the series is a nod to Ingmar Bergman's work, and I feel strongly for this relationship drama which is like a kammerspiel,” said actress Eva Röse (Maria Wern, Honour). “It is human, intense, it has lots of recognition factor, not least humour.”

“Shooting all the scenes in one location puts a lot of responsibility on the actors but also gives us a lot of space,” added the seasoned actress who admits she had been “longing for such a challenge for a lone time”.

Ardalan Esmaili (The Opponent, The Charmer) said he was particularly moved when he read the script. “It's a rich, and funny story. Divorce numbers in society are creeping up and we’re putting that issue to the forefront, questioning if couples might give up too easily,” he observed.

The series is currently filming and scheduled to premiere on the streaming service at a later date.

The L.A. and Stockholm-based B-Reel Films (BR.F) has recently launched SVT’s crime drama Detective #24, and Viaplay’s drama comedy Thunder in My Heart, season 2 which premiered April 24. Season 1 is currently number 3 on Viaplay’s Top 10 list.
