Each film picked up three prizes at last night’s annual Swedish film awards, with Henrik Schyffert’s Run Uje Run receiving the top award for Best Film.

Swedish comedian Uje Brandelius who wrote the script and stars in his auto-biographical film Run Uje Run was awarded both for Best Script and Best Actor. The warm and heartfelt movie in which Brandelius’ life is turned upside down when diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease was produced by Filmlance. Producer Tomas Michaelsson took centre stage together with Brandelius and actor-turned director Henrik Schyffert to collect the three Guldbagges last night at Stockholm’s awards ceremony, transmitted live on SVT.

Three female talents behind Sweden’s Oscar entry and Nordic Council Film Prize nominated film Charter were equally celebrated, as Amanda Kernell was named Best Director, Norwegian actress Ane Dahl Torp Best Actress, and Sophia Olsson Best Director of Photography. The film was produced by Nordisk Film Production Sweden.

The suspense thriller Breaking the Surface by Joachim Hedén and family film Nelly Rapp Monster Agent both received two awards, while Nathan Grossman’s I am Greta was voted Best Documentary, Lena Endre Best Supporting Actress for My Father Marianne and Ahmad Fadel Best Supporting Actor for Ghabe.

Elsewhere, Ola Kvernberg was awarded Best Original Score for Magnus Gertten’s documentary Only the Devil Lives Without Hope, and Linda Janson won Best Set Design for Tomas Alfredson’s The Jonsson Gang. The film which opened straight on the streaming service C More on December 25 has now attracted nearly 1.7 million viewers, making it the 5th biggest premiere ever of a Swedish film.

SF Studios’ producer Jon Nohrstedt, who has worked on the children’s film Pelle No Tail, the double-Guldbagge winner Nelly Rapp Monster Agent and the Bamse trilogy, was handed out the Gullspira Children’s Film Award for his contribution to Swedish Children’s films.

Nordisk Film & TV Fond was associated to eight Guldbagge awards for Charter, My Father Marianne, Nelly Rapp Monster Agent, The Jonsson Gang and Only the Devil Lives Without Hope.
