Nordisk Film & TV Fond and Göteborg Film Festival invite Nordic broadcasters/streamers to submit series to the Nordic Series Script Award and the Creative Courage Award.

The Nordic Series Script Award recognises outstanding screenwriting in Nordic drama. Presented annually at Göteborg Film Festival’s TV Drama Vision, it carries forward the legacy of its predecessor, the Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize. This prestigious award of NOK 200,000 is financed by Nordisk Film & TV Fond, and given to the head writer(s) of a Nordic drama series that premiered during the previous year.

The Creative Courage Award, introduced in 2025, honours the producer(s) and the commissioner(s) of a series that exemplifies bold, innovative, and risk-taking approaches in Nordic drama series. This honorary award celebrates individuals and companies which embrace brave producing and commissioning, thus pioneering new directions in storytelling.

Five titles, one from each Nordic country, will be nominated for The Nordic Series Script Award. The national finalists will be announced in early January 2027. The nominated series are selected from all series submitted by Nordic broadcasters/streamers.

No nominations are announced for the Creative Courage Award, only the winning series, the commissioners and producers of which will be invited to the festival.

Eligibility criteria

  • The series must be primarily Nordic, meaning the main production company must be based and have its address in the Nordic region (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, the Faroe Islands, Greenland or Åland).
  • Only the first season of a series will be considered.
  • The series must premiere between January 1 and December 31, 2026.

Submission guidelines

  • Broadcasters/streamers that commission Nordic drama series can nominate 1–2 series each. Production companies, producers, creators, etc. are thus not eligible to nominate series.
  • A broadcaster or streamer can nominate the same series for both awards or submit one series for the Nordic Series Script Award and another for the Creative Courage Award. At least one nomination must be for the script award. Please fill in one form for each submission separately.
  • When submitting a title for the Creative Courage, you need to include a short motivation of what makes the commissioning brave and the production pioneering in the Nordic landscape.
