Catch up TV and digital viewing boost the ratings of TV2’s drama series produced by Miso Film.

Launched on October 27 on TV2, the returning season of the Norwegian drama series had 631,000 viewers, a level comparable to the first episode of season 1 (660,000). But thanks to the series’ availability on the broadcaster’s streaming service TV2 Sumo, episode one added more than 400,000 viewers, according to TV2.

“This [doubling of audience with online viewing] is a trend that we’ve noticed with every major TV drama series,” said TV2’s communication manager Jan-Petter Dahl. Based on total screen ratings for episode two (834,000 viewers) and episode three (781,000), TV2 expects season 2 to beat the previous season that ended up with 850,000 average viewers.

Season 2 stars again Nicolai Cleve Broch as Aksel Borgen, a Norwegian businessman who comes back to his native town after being acquitted of the murder of his high school sweetheart. The returning season goes deeper into the consequences of the girl’s murder and addresses again Aksel’s guilt.

The TV show co-written by Siv Rajendram Eliassen and Anna Bache-Wiig was produced in cooperation with SVT, TV2 Danmark, RUV, Lumiere in Benelux, MTV and Freemantle International.
