A Man's Job by Aleksi Salmenperä is the favourite for the Jussi 2008, Finland's annual film awards, with 11 nominations including Best Film, Director, Script and Lead Actor (Tommi Korpela).

The film screened at nearly 40 world film festivals last year, picking up the most international awards for a Finnish film. It was produced by Petri Jokiranta and Tero Kaukomaa for Blind Spot Pictures.

In pole position is Petri Kotwica's drama Black Ice with nine nominations, and in third place with five nominations is Lauri Törhönen's war film The Border. A Man's Job competes against Black Ice and Åke Lindman and Sakari Kirjavainen´s Tali-Ihantala 1944 for Best Film, and Kotwica against Salmenperä and JP Siili (Ganes) for Best Director.

Three of the eight films nominated for a Jussi received support from Nordisk Film & TV Fond. The winners will be announced in Helsinki on February 3, 2008.
