The 101 Year Old Man Who Skipped Out on the Bill and Disappeared is running in eight categories at the Swedish Film awards including Best Film and Director.
The comedy co-directed by Felix Herngren and Måns Herngren is currently number one at the Swedish box office with more than 370,000 admissions. The sequel to The 100 Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared broke the Swedish first day opening on Christmas day and after five days on screens it became the biggest Swedish film of 2016 according to Walt Disney Studios Nordic.
The second most nominated films with six accolades each are the critically-acclaimed The Giant by Johannes Nyholm and My Aunt in Sarajevo by Goran Kapetanovič. The two films also compete for Best Film against the documentary Fragility by Iranian born Ahang Bashi and the road movie The Garbage Helicopter by Jonas Selberg Augustsen.
The period films A Serious Game by Pernilla August and My Future Love by Ulf Malmros share four out of five nominations each for Best Supporting Actress, Supporting Actor, Costume Design and Set Design.
Girls Lost by Alexandra-Therese Keining has three nominations for Best Director, main Actress and Original Score.
Nordisk Film & TV Fond is associated to 25 Guldbagge nominations for The Giant, A Serious Game, My Future Love, Girls Lost, as well as Upp i det blå (2 nominations), The Girl, the Mother and the Demons, The World of Dolores and Gunellen/Bajsfilmen, and the documentary Don Juan (one nomination each).
The Guldbagge arranged by the Swedish Film Institute will be held on January 23rd, 2017.
