The American Film Institute (AFI) Fest unspooling in Los Angeles between November 3-10 has selected six Nordic films for its official programme. All titles will screen as well at the parallel American Film Market in Santa Monica expecting over 8,000 film executives from 70 countries . Lars von Trier's Melancholia will screen at the AFI FEST as a Special Screening, ahead of its US theatrical release on November 11 via Magnolia Pictures. Ruben Öslund's Play and Mika Kaurismäki's documentary Mama Africa will screen at the World Cinema sections; Headhunters at the Midnight section , and Joachim Trier's Oslo, August 31st at the New Auteurs section. The Swedish love story With Every Heartbeat by Alexandra-Therese Keining will have its world premiere in the Breakthrough section. The film is sold at the AFM by Yellow Affair.
