Since yesterday Finnish producer Petri Rossi (pictured) is the new Head of Production and Development at the Finnish Film Foundation. He replaces Petri Kemppinen, now CEO of Nordisk Film & TV Fond. Rossi takes over a position that was slightly modified to better meet the challenges in the film industry, in particular regarding film distribution. Irina Krohn, Finnish Film Foundation CEO said:" We look forward to Petri Rossi’s strong vision of how the support decisions and actions of the Finnish Film Foundation will function as a whole, with the technical, business and artistic forces giving rise to maximum cultural and social impact for domestic films."

Rossi is a well-established producer and cinematographer in Finland. He was executive producer and cinematographer on the 2012 Jussi award-winning film Silence, co-producer of the Scandinavian documentaries The Ambassador, El Medico-the Cubaton Story and associate producer of Steam of Life. Besides his activities in the private sector, he was Film Commissioner for The Finnish Film Foundation from 2000 to 2005.
