Joachim Trier's (pictured) Oslo, August 31st received on Saturday the Grand Jury Prize and Best Actor award (Anders Danielsen Lie) from the Angers Premiers Plans Festival in France. The €15,000 Grand Jury Prize cash award goes towards the release costs of the Norwegian film in France on February 29 (Memento Film) and another €2,000 envelope to Trier. French subtitling costs will be covered as well. The director said he was very pleased with his double win in Angers that gave him his first international award back in 1999 for his short film Pieta. Oslo, August 31st has been a festival and critics' favourite since its world premiere at Cannes' Un Certain Regard last year. The Motlys production supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond has been sold to over 20 world territories by the Match Factory.
