Danish actor Nikolaj Lie Kaas (pictured) - aka Dirch Passer in The Funny Man - has landed the title role as investigator Carl Mørck in The Keeper of Lost Causes, first film based on Jussi Adler Olsen's crime series. The announcement was made yesterday in Cannes by production powerhouse Zentropa and sales agent TrustNordisk. Lie Kaas will be directed by Mikkel Nørgaard (Clown-The Movie). Millennium co-writer Nikolaj Arcel has penned the screenplay for the series of four films based on Jussi Adler-Olsen's Department Q investigations. The Keeper of Lost Causes will start filming in October. In Cannes TrustNordisk pre-sold it to NFP Marketing & Distribution for Germany and Austria and Frenetic Films for Switzerland. The crime series is produced by Louise Vesth for Zentropa Entertainments20 ApS in co-operation with TV2 and ZDF/ ZDF Enterprises.
