Børning, last year’s Norwegian champion at the box office, raced to the top of the 31st Norwegian film awards held on Saturday at Haugesund’s Norwegian International Film Festival. The film directed by Hallvard Bræin (pictured) for Filmkameratene picked up Best Norwegian Film, Best Supporting Actor Best Sound Design and the People’s Amanda.  Filmkameratene won a fifth statuette for Operation Arctic, voted Best Children’s Film.

For the first time the Best Director Amanda went to a documentary filmmaker, Aslaug Holm for Brothers, while Tonje Hessen Schei’s Drone won Best Documentary. The two films were supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond, alongside Bent Hamer’s 1001 Grams, Amanda winner for Best Screenplay, Beatles, Best Arts Direction, Scenography, and Captain Sabertooth and the Treasure Lama Rama, Best Visual Effects.
