GENERAL INFORMATION

The Aim of Nordic Talents

The aim is to introduce graduating students from the Nordic film schools to the Nordic producers and financiers, and - equally important - to give the producers and financiers the opportunity to meet the future talents. A Nordic network is essential for the industry - and Nordic Talents is the platform to meet.

From Pitch to Film

2015 is not only the Fund’s 25-year anniversary, but this year is the 15###sup/sup### time Nordic Talents will take place. So far 30 pitch prizes have been handed out. Of these 14 projects have become successful films, 8 are still in development.

Among the former Nordic Talents’ award winners are: Norwegian Erik Richter Strand's feature Sons, the Swedish documentary The Armwrestler from Solitude by Lisa Munthe and Helen Ahlsson, the Finnish feature Run Sister Run by Marja Pyykkö, the Icelandic feature Volcano by Runar Runarsson, the Danish animated feature Marco Macaco by Jan Rahbek, the Swedish feature Bekas by Karzan Kader and Finnish Antti Heikki Pesonen’s feature Headfirst.

What Happens During Nordic Talents?

The graduation students selected to pitch their projects will have a two-day workshop previous to the event to help them prepare their presentations. Nordic Talents opens with the Welcome Reception on Wednesday evening. Thursday and Friday there are Film Screenings of graduation films, and the students pitch their projects in front of the jury and the audience during Pitching Sessions. Moderator Karolina Lidin runs "the show".

The program also includes a Producer’s Pitch followed by a Mingling Session, and a Master Class before the Award Ceremony closes the event.

NOTE: Pitches, Master Class etc. will be held in English.

Detailed program TBA in August.

Who is Invited?

The event is open for professionals from the Nordic Film and TV industry and students from Nordic film schools.

Nordic Talents is free of charge and meals at the Danish Film School are included.

There is a maximum of 200 participants; some seats are reserved for observers (future graduation students) from the Film Schools. To attend you must register. Participant registration is open Mid June-Mid August.
