Nordisk Film & TV Fond Gives Out 42 Grants to International Distributors

Nordisk Film & TV Fond announced today that it has given out 42 grants worth €220,000 for the theatrical release of 19 Nordic films in 20 territories outside the Nordic region, as part of its High Five International Cinema Distribution scheme.

Among the films supported is the Oscar-winning In a Better World by Susanne Bier.

The record number of applications (94 compared to 58 for the previous round of support, and 34 under the scheme's pilot phase) reflects the popularity of the scheme - consisting of top-up financing not subject to reimbursement - in the context of an increasingly difficult marketplace for independent foreign language films. See full list of 2011 awards on right (download F).
