The Swedish thriller is among six long-running new TV dramas on the Nordic sales outfit REInvent Studios’ line up, alongside 5 short formats and SF Studios film catalogue.

With One Eye Open starring Adam Lundgren (The Restaurant) and Evin Ahmad (The Rain) is a suspense thriller set in 1996, between Stockholm and St Petersburg, based on Martin Österdahl’s book about the former special-ops soldier Max Anger.

The series is produced by Nice Drama and Twelve Town with support from Nordisk Film & TV Fond. Delivery is set for Q1, 2021.  A teaser and script is available to buyers.

Outlier (8X45’), the crime thriller set in the Sami community in Northern Norway stars The River’s Stein Bjørn and Hanne Mathisen, as well as Eila Ballovara Varsi. The series shot in Norwegian, Sami and English-language is produced by Shuuto Norway. The completed series will be delivered this month.

Fractures (8x50’) from Iceland’s Glassriver Production, is a procedural drama following a female doctor who moves back to her small village with her daughter, as she faces divorce. In the title roles are Sara Dögg Ásgeirsdóttir (Stella Blómkvist), Katla Njálsdóttir (Heartstone) and Joi Jóhannsson (Fortitude, Arctic Circle). The series backed by Nordisk Film & TV Fond will air on RÚV in 2021.

Snow Angels (6x58’) produced by Sweden’s Yellow Bird and Denmark’s Happy Ending Film, is a character-driven crime drama about family secrets and motherhood. In the title roles are Eva Melander (Border), Maria Rossing (Splitting Up Together), Josefin Asplund (Top Dog) and Cecilia Nilsson (Spring Tide). The show will premiere on DR and SVT in 2021.

Peacemaker produced by Finland’s MRP Matila Röhr Productions aired on Yle last month and collected 403,000 linear viewers for the first episode, plus 304,640 online after 10 days. The high-quality drama about the fascinating world of peace negotiations stars Irina Björklund (Bordertown) and Richard Sammel (Inglorious Basterds). The series nominated for the Prix Europa was sold to Topic in the US.

First Responders produced by Sweden’s SF Studios, premiered on Viaplay in June. The procedural about a group of emergency services in a mountain resort in Northern Sweden stars Nadja Halid and Göran Gillinger.

The five Danish short formats on Reinvent’s MIPCOM slate include Xee’s Cold Hawaii, I Hate Love, TV2 Denmark’s Pulse, Chemo Brain (selected at Sundance 2020) and Sex (Berlinale Series).

Commenting on market trends, Helene Aurø, Director of Sales & Marketing said “buying comes in waves”, linked to the evolution of the pandemic in various territories, but “business is steady”, with strong interest notably on SF Studios’ back catalogue of films & TV series.

“Of course, nothing can replace face to face meetings, but we’re in regular touch with buyers in all countries and looking forward to meeting existing and new clients at our MIPCOM lounge,” she said.
