Cathrine Wiernik has been appointed Director of Acquisitions, Formats and Development for the Nordic and Baltic region.
Wiernik’s appointment is part of the restructuring of Telia’s media group TV4 Media, following the Swedish telco’s acquisition of Bonnier Broadcasting and its TV brands TV4 in Sweden, MTV Finland and Nordic streamer C More Entertainment.
The senior TV executive who was Director of Programmes at Bonnier Broadcasting will oversee a new combined acquisition division including executives from TV4 and MTV.
“We have exciting times ahead of us and restructuring our organisation will strengthen our competitive edge as we cater to the growing demand of high quality, premium content across all our markets,” said Wiernik, adding: “I look forward to working with the new Nordic team to ensure that TV4 Media continues to be the leading provider of high-quality content in the Nordic and Baltic region.”
Head of Acquisitions Sofie Schütt will take on day to day responsibility for the expanded Nordic team while Head of Formats and Development Niklas Vestberg, will work closely with the programme division. Both will continue to report to Wiernik, herself under the responsibility of Åsa Sjöberg, VP Chief Content Officer at TV4 Media.
The new organisation will take full effect this fall.
