Ragnar Bragason's series about three hapless characters working at a gas station broke all TV ratings and DVD sales records domestically and was broadcast in Finland (YLE) and on BBC4. Remake rights were also sold to the US where Reveille and Jack Black are working on a US format. Kjartan Thor Thordarson, CEO and Executive Producer at Sagafilm said: "the series has really taken off with over 10 territories negotiating rights at the moment. We will continue to build on the success of The Nightshift and bring the series to other markets in 2012." Shine International handles the distribution of both the format and full original series, along with the follow-ups The Dayshift and The Prisonshift.
Meanwhile the 8x30' comedy series World's End, the follow up to the Shift series has just premiered on Iceland's Channel 2. The series almost entirely set at a mental hospital on the outskirts of Reykjavik was supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond.
