Novotny has appeared in several feature films such as Simon Staho's Bang Bang Orangutang and Days and Night, Josef Fares' Jalla! Jalla! as well as in SVT's previous drama series Snapphanar (2006), Norrmalmstorg (2003) and Herr von hacken (2000).
The new drama series 183 Days tells the difficulty of a group of five youth to go back to ‘normal' life after having partaken in the reality TV show HUS-1. During 183 days, Emma (Tuva Novotny), Mandy (Sasha Becker), Laura (Malin Arbidsson), Sebastian (Ulric von der Esch) and Tarek (Jonatan Rodriguez) were locked in the ‘House'. Times were tough as the uncensored youth were victims of all kinds of humiliations. But it was still nothing compared to what happened afterwards in the real world.
The first three episodes will be directed by Emiliano Goessens (who worked on SVT's mini-series Golden Brown Eyes) and the three following by upcoming filmmaker Nanna Huolman (That Special Summer). The series will be broadcast on SVT in the autumn 2008.
Two other SVT quality dramas will be broadcast on SVT1 this Christmas. En spricka i Kristallen based on Cecilia von Krusenstjernas' best-selling novel, produced by SVT, Film i Väst, Tre Vänner and Fundamentfilm will be aired on December 10 and 17, and August, the 2 x 90 minutes episodes about the young August Strindberg's love affair with Siri von Essen, will be shown on December 26 and 27. The series directed by Stig Larsson was supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond.
