The Danish family Little Allan-The Human Antenna directed by Amalie Næsby Fick is produced by Nordisk Film Production Denmark.

A graduate from the National Film School of Denmark’s animation programme, Amalie Næsby Fick had her breakthrough with the international box office hit The Incredible Story of the Giant Bear, co-directed by Philipp Lipski and Jørgen Lerdam. The film was selected at the Berlinale Generation Kplus programme in 2017.

Three years later, she was back in Berlin with her first long-form scripted format SEX, selected for Berlinale Series.

Her second animated feature, the 3D Little Allan-The Human Antenna (working title) is co-written by Næsby Fick and Thomas Porsager (The Marco Effect), based on the children’s book of the same name, written by actor/comedian Peter Frödin and author/playwright Line Knutzon.

In it, the introverted Little Allan (11) is talked into acting as a human antenna for his old UFO-obsessed neighbour who thinks a huge invasion fleet from the outer space is on its way. But what they find is not exactly a huge invasion fleet. When the rickety antenna construction collapses, Little Allan is only barely saved by the alien girl Britney, who is doing a school project about the primitive human race. Now Little Allan has to help her get home, while she becomes fascinated with this tiny example of the human species:

TrustNordisk’s managing director Susan Wendt said: 'We are very happy to be on board this exciting CGI animation and to be working with Amalie on Little Allan - The Human Antenna which is a great sci-fi adventure for the whole family with a broad international appeal.'

The €2.7 million film was produced by Trine Heidegaard (Checkered Ninja) and Thomas Heinesen (A Fortunate Man) for Nordisk Film Production, in collaboration with Wil Film, Pop Up Production, with support from The Danish Film Institute, Den Vestdanske Filmpulje, Nordisk Film- & TV Fond, YouSee, TV2 Denmark and TV 2 Norway.

The Danish premiere is slated for February 2022.
