Mipcom: Bille August’s A Fortunate Man (previously known as ‘Lucky Per’) is available both as a feature film and 4x55’ mini series.
The period drama produced by Nordisk Film Production is the most ambitious project ever for TV2 Danmark that will air it in 2019. Anders August (The Legacy) has written the screenplay from Nobel Prize winner Henrik Pontoppidan’s literary classic ‘Lykke Per’.
In the title roles are Esben Smed (Follow the Money) and Katrine Greis-Rosenthal (The Bridge 3, The Absent One), who play alongside Peter Plaugborg, Rasmus Bjerg, Anders Hove, Tammi Øst and Tommy Kenter.
Set in the turn of the last century, it’s a story of personal ambitions and difficult choices to make between career and family life.
Palme’ d’or winning director August described the project as a ‘modern story and at the same time an amazing love story, perhaps one of the most beautiful ever written’. A Fortunate Man is currently filming and will be delivered late 2018.
Other drama series on TrustNordisk’s Mipcom line up include the Danish family adventure Finding Home (4x40’) produced by Zentropa for TV2 (airing fall 2018) and the Norwegian thriller Twin produced by Nordisk Film Production Norge for NRK with Kristoffer Hivju in the lead.
