The crime drama created by Miikko Oikkonen is running for Best Finnish Drama series at the national Golden Venla TV awards 2017.

Ville Virtanen who plays Chief investigator Kari Sorjonen is competing for Best Actor and Anu Sinisalo for Best Actress. Bordertown (Sorjonen) was produced by Fisher King Production for YLE, in co-production with Federation Entertainment that handles world sales.  The 11-part show had 1,316,000 consolidated viewers on YLE for its opening episode. 

The Black comedy Kohtuuttomuuksia directed by Petri Kotwica and produced by Solar Films for YLE is nominated for Best Drama Series, Best Script and Best Actress (Tiina Lymi). 

Crime show Roba, season 3 produced by Yellow Film & TV for MTV3 is running for Best Drama Series, Best Script (Tatiana Elf) and Best Actress (Tiina Lymi).

Yellow Film & TV’s other show Kimmo produced for YLE2 is running for Best Comedy and Best Actor (Jussi Vatanen) while the company’s hospital hit Nurses season 3 is running for Best Script (Petja Peltomaa).

The Finnish Emmys or Golden Venla awards organised by the Finnish Television Academy will be held on January 13, 2017 at Helsinki’s National Opera. The event will be transmitted live by YLE.

The Finnish pubcaster YLE leads the Venla nominations with 16 accolades, against 8 for MTV3 and 5 for Nelonen.
