Joachim Trier and Iram Haq’s films won four ‘Kanon’ prizes each at the Norwegian film professionals awards ceremony held last Thursday at the Kosmorama Film Festival.

Joachim Trier’s genre film Thelma won Best Actor (Henrik Rafaelsen), Best Actress (Eili Harboe), Best Editing (Olivier Bugge Coutté) and Best Score (Ola Fløttum).

Iram Haq’s drama What Will People Say scooped Best Script (Iram Haq), Best Director, Best producer (Maria Ekerhovd, Mer Film) and Best Supporting Actor (Adil Hussain).

The Kanon award for Best Film went to Kim Hiorthøy’s directorial debut The Rules for Everything. Both The Rules for Everything and Thelma were produced by Motlys.

Other winners were Harald Zwart’s box office hit The 12th Man, awarded Best Sound Design (Christian Schaanning) and The Monkey and the Mouth (Adjø Montebello) awarded Best Production Design (Astrid Maria Sætren and Sebastian Ekeberg).

The Kosmorama International Film Festival in Trondheim was held March 5-11, 2018.
