The Norwegian Film Institute (NFI) has granted NOK 5 million in production support toward the NOK 79m series from Home for Christmas producers.
According to the NFI, International Emmy-award winning director Cecilie Mosli (Mammon) will be directing the show, working with top Scandinavian writing team Camilla Ahlgren (The Bridge, Quicksand), Hilde Susan Jægtnes (Occupied 3) and Jenny Lund Madsen (Follow the Money, Rita).
The official logline says the series centres on a mother who takes fate into her own hands when her son is killed and justice falls victim to big politics.
At press time The Oslo Company producer Jon Peder Olrud wasn’t able to officially announce the commissioning broadcaster or VOD for the Norwegian premium show, which is produced with Mikkel Jersin of Denmark’s Snowglobe (so far specialised in quality auteur features) and Line Winther Skyum Funch of Sweden’s fast-expanding Nordic Drama Queens (Cry Wolf).
The Oslo Company’s recent successful TV shows include Netflix’s Home for Christmas 1&2, and Discovery+’s youth drama Everything You Love, which won the Student Award-Best Short Form Series at the last Canneseries.
