Norwegian public broadcaster NRK stole the show last Saturday evening at the Gullruten awards in Bergen, collecting 14 out of 21 awards, of which Best TV drama for its in-house production Taxi (pictured).
The 4x45' series directed by Ulrik Imtiaz Rolfsen (Varg Veum Bitter Flowers) beat three other strong Gullruten contenders: Lilyhammer, Buzz Aldrin and Dag 2. Taxi is sold internationally by Nordic World that closed a deal with the Netherlands.
Other major Gullruten awards went to Anders Baasmo Christiansen who plays Dag's best friend Benedict in the dramedy Dag produced by Kamerakameratene for TV2 and Ine Jansen was voted Best Actress for her role in Helt Perfekt produced by Feelgood SFT for TVNorge. Karoline Grindaker and Hilde K. Kjøs's documentary Sju kammers-frontsøstrene produced by Mica Film for NRK won Best TV Documentary and Hurtigruten, NRK's live TV marathon which was followed by nearly six million viewers from 148 countries (including three million in Norway) was named Best Innovative TV programme of the year.
