Danish TV series continue to score in neighbouring Sweden. The latest show to catch viewers' attention is the crime drama Dicte produced by Miso Film for TV2 Denmark. Programmed on TV4 Sweden at 21.00 on Monday evening, the first episode attracted 873,000 viewers, beating SVT's own new series Molanders which premiered with 835,000 viewers.
"Dicte's premiere on TV4 shows again that Danish-produced quality drama is a hit in Sweden. We've had great successes in the past with Danish series such as Anna Pihl and Those Who Kill and it is also quite remarkable that Dicte has beaten SVT's new Swedish drama series. I am convinced Dicte's success will continue", said TV4's Head of Programmes Åsa Sjöberg. At the same time last Monday on TV2 Denmark Dicte increased its viewers from 1,157,000 for episode 3 to 1,211,000 for episode 4 and its ratings remained high at 4.3.
Based on Elsebeth Egholm's best-selling novels, the show features Iben Hjejle (pictured) as crime journalist Dicte Svendsen who gets involved in the cases she writes about. The series supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond will air on TV 2 Norway early May. ZDF Enterprises handles international sales.
