Seasoned make-up artist Lundström and Goldammer are front runners in the Oscars race for Best Make-Up and Hairstyling, for their outstanding job in transforming Border’s leading duo Eva Melander and Eero Milonoff into trolls.

Lundström has a vast experience of working both in Scandinavia and in Hollywood and the UK, on projects ranging from The Harry Potter series, Beauty and the Beast, Hannes Holm’s A Moon of My Own and the TV series Beck. Pamela Goldammer has also worked on the Harry Potter series, as well as Game of Thrones among others.

The duo said in a statement: “We are so incredibly grateful to the Academy for recognising our work. Being chosen by our peers is truly amazing. This was a team effort involving a group of makeup artists and craftsmen/crafts women under our supervision. We want to thank all the team who worked on creating the make ups… ! Special thanks to the on set team: Pierre Olivier Persin, Rogier Samuels, Morten Jacobsen, Inga Ross and Helena Olsson. A big thank you to Eva Melander and Eero Milonoff for being so incredibly patient through hours of make-up application and, together with us, bringing the makeup to life.”

Border was Sweden’s Oscar entry in the category Best Foreign Language Film but missed out on a nomination. The film was produced by Meta Film Stockholm, Spark Film & TV and Kärnfilm with support from Nordisk Film & TV Fond.

Spark Film & TV and Meta Film (UK) are also involved in Björn Runge’s The Wife for which US star Glenn Close gets a chance to grab her first Oscar for Best Actress. Close just received a Golden Globe for her tour de force performance.

Also running for an Oscar is Swedish-born Hollywood based Ludwig Göransson for his original score of Black Panther. The 91st Academy Awards ceremony will take place on February 24, 2019 in L.A.
