Hermele’s recent series executive produced for C More and TV4 include Anxious People, The Sandhamn Murders, Heartbeats, Solsidan and the upcoming Riding in Darkness. She worked earlier for Nice Drama on series including White Wall and Hassel.

Commenting on the hiring of Hermele, SVT’s Head of Drama Anna Croneman praises her new female colleague’s hands-on production experience. “She has also worked as an executive producer on a television channel, which means that she has exactly the skills we need when we prepare ourselves for the challenges of the future,” added Croneman.

SVT is currently enjoying the success of the realistic cop drama Thin Blue Line, season 2. Launched September 18, the show produced by Anagram Sweden scooped 994,000 linear viewers on SVT1 for a share of 32.1%, plus 746,463 online viewers. Episode 5 on October 16 pulled in 823,000 linear viewers for a 30.9% share, plus 485,171 online viewers.

The first season of the drama about the daily lives of police officers in Malmö was a massive hit for SVT, with critics and audiences alike. Over 2.3 million Swedes watched the opening episode including nearly one million online viewers on SVT Play. The show created by Cilla Jackert won Best Drama and Programme of the Year at the Swedish Kristallen TV awards and was nominated for the Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize for Outstanding Screenplay of a Nordic TV drama.

SVT’s next event series is the thriller The Lost (Försvunna människor) created by Ulf Ryberg for Unlimited Stories. The six-part series about a truck driver (Peter Viitanen) with eight Syrian refugees smuggled in his tanker truck is due to premiere on SVT November 7, 2022.
