After nearly 20 years of collaboration with Zentropa, Nordisk Film and their sales affiliate TrustNordisk, Ennis is launching her new company REinvent Studios, dedicated to the development, financing and packaging of mainly TV dramas.

Wendt who has been part of TrustNordisk since the very beginning, has been promoted from Director of International Sales and Marketing to Managing Director. Together with her colleagues at TrustNordisk, she will continue to focus on international sales of high quality Nordic and European content.

Wendt said: “Rikke and I have been working together for more than 10 years, and it’s for sure very sad that Rikke has decided to leave TrustNordisk, but we will continue in her spirit. This has been prepared over a longer period of time, and luckily we will continue working together in the future.”

Ennis said: “The TrustNordisk team has been like a family and I am proud of having been part of this great adventure, taking the company to where it is today. I have been dreaming about creating my own entity for a while and now that time has come." See Rikke Ennis’ separate exclusive interview: CLICK HERE.

Zentropa has been shaken by recent sexual misconduct allegations about co-founder and producer Peter Aalbæk Jensen, but Ennis says her departure has nothing to do with this. She told nordicfilmandtvnews.com: “Peter is a major reason why I stayed that long [at TrustNordisk]. He was my mentor and will always be a good friend. He has been super supportive in this process and so have my colleagues at Zentropa’s management. Zentropa is one of the strongest brands in Europe in the media business and I am proud to have been part of it for so many years.”

Wendt will be in Cannes next week at TrustNordisk office 10 rue Buttura, with her team comprising Senior Sales Manager Nicolai Korsgaard, Sales and Project Manager Silje Nikoline Glimsdal and PR & Marketing Manager Ida Storm.

Leading the company’s Cannes slate is Lars von Trier’s psycho thriller/digression film The House that Jack Built, screening in official selection-out of competition. Other films screenings include Erik Poppe’s drama U-July 22 and Bergman Revisited, presented at a closed market screening.

High profile titles to be discussed for pre-sales include:

  • Out Stealing Horses by Hans Petter Moland,
  • Congo by Marius Holst,
  • The Quake by John Andreas Andersen,
  • Sonja-The White Swan by Anne Sewitsky,
  • A Better Life by Michael Noer,
