War thriller Nobel, comedy Vikingane (The Vikings) and youth series Skam (Shame) season 3 are some of the top series set to air this autumn on Norwegian public broadcaster NRK.

The 8x60’ drama Nobel directed by Per-Olav Sørensen (The Heavy Water War) will premiere on September 25 on NRK1. Expectations are high on the war drama/political thriller produced by Monster, in which Aksel Hennie plays a Norwegian soldier caught in a conspiracy plot. Other actors include Anders Danielsen Lie, Tuva Novotny and Christian Rubeck.  DRG handles world sales.

The comedy series Vikingane set in in a Viking village in 790 AD is scheduled for an October run on NRK1. The show produced by Anders Tangen (Lilyhammer) for NRK is a cross between Monty Python and Games of Thrones. In the title role is Trond Fausa Aurvåg.

NRK Super’s event teen web-series Skam (Shame) created by Julie Andem comes back for a third run. The scripted format about love, friendship and asserting one’s voice has an innovative format consisting of daily online clips, put together as single episodes programmed every Friday on the dedicated website (skam.p3.no) and on the linear TV. The triple Gulllruten award-winning show is sold worldwide by Germany’s Beta Film.

The 30’ Norwegian sitcom Side by Side about relationships and the quirks of modern life comes back for a fourth season on NRK1’s prime time 21.30 slot on August 27.

Eight foreign drama series will premiere on NRK including the Danish show Follow the Money that kick started last Sunday on NRK1, the Finnish crime thriller Tellus and Swedish/French crime drama Midnight Sun, both slotted for October.
