The Danish actress Sofie Gråbøl (photo) known by millions of TV viewers as head of investigation Sarah Lund in DR TV's Forbrydelsen (The Killing) is set to play another 10 episodes of the hugely popular crime series.
Producer Pia Bernth told the Danish newspaper Berlingske Tidende that writer Søren Sveistrup who developed the original series with her, is already working on the script for the television drama's new season which will include totally new characters, apart from Sarah Lund. "When we finished The Killing, we asked ourselves: where did Sarah Lund go to when she left? When we will air the next series in 2009, two years will have passed, so we will find out what she has been doing since and where she is in her life. And I wouldn't be surprised if a murder mystery was involved."
Filming for the ten new episodes will start in the autumn and DR1 will broadcast it ten Sundays in a row in the autumn 2009. Over two million Danes watch the first 20 episodes of The Killing, anxious to find out who had killed Nanna Birk Larsen.
