The Norwegian Ministry of Culture has announced on Wednesday the appointment of Sindre Guldvog (pictured) as new CEO of the Norwegian Film Institute. He will take on his new position on January 1st, when the contract of the current CEO Nina Refseth expires.

Just like Refseth, Guldvog comes from the publishing world. He has a long experience as manager at a top level both in strategic and operative leadership, such as CEO of the leading publishing Cappelen Group and director of Bonnier Norge. He has been member of the board of many organisations across Scandinavia including the Norwegian Publishing Association, SF Norge, SF Kino and Bonnier Multimedia. 

Norway’s Culture Minister Hadia Tajik said :“With Sindre Guldvog we have a competent managing director for the NFI who can continue the great work achieved by the current CEO Nina Refseth. His long experience in the culture industry, film distribution and his insight into technological developments within culture will be important for the future challenges in the film sector.”

Guldvog’s contract will run for the next six years.
