The Swedish Film Institute’s current Head of Film Funding will take on her new position at the Swedish production centre August 2.
Colliander first joined the Swedish Film Institute (SFI) in 2016 as Head of Production and was promoted to the role of Head of Film Funding in 2019. Her previous positions include SVT Director of Programme and producer for the Children & Youth unit.
Commenting on her new job, Colliander said: “I have had five fantastic years at the Film Institute - formative, challenging and fun. I had no plans to change jobs, but suddenly this opportunity arose. Becoming CEO of Film Stockholm AB feels like a step in the right direction.”
“Kristina will leave a big void behind her, both as a colleague and fellow human being. At the same time, I feel happy for Kristina's sake and proud that one of our colleagues is so attractive to recruit after a tumultuous pandemic year,” commented Anna Serner, CEO at the SFI. “Kristina has been a key person in our work to set a structure for the dialogue with the industry and regarding the distribution of the Ministry of Culture's extra covid-crisis support funds. It is a job we must manage well in the future. It is very positive that Kristina will remain in our world as an important public financier. We look forward to continuing to collaborate, even if it happens in new ways,” said Serner.
The SFI’s Kristin Engstedt will step in as acting Head of the Film Funding Department from June 1st. Since 2015, she has worked as Head of Distribution & Screening.
Film Stockholm which is replacing among others the regional film fund Film Capital Stockholm, is financed by Stockholm Region and the City of Stockholm. The production centre is in charge of film and TV dramas co-productions, film commissioning, talent development and competence development.
It announced late 2020 that it will earmark a minimum SEK 15 million a year for co-financing of films (including documentaries) and TV dramas. Its new application portal opens this month.
