EXCLUSIVE: The senior TV executive moves to Fremantle from Warner Bros ITVP where she held a similar role. The appointment is effective immediately.

Eskola has a strong track-record in Finnish film and television, having worked for the last two decades as producer and/or executive producer on various high-profile TV shows such as Elisa Viihde’s award-winning psycho thriller Man in Room 301 - BBC’s first series from Finland - on top of Yle’s Happy Hour of the Wolf, Soundtrack of Love and MTV’s Welcome to Texas.

She also served as create/writer of The Hour of the Wolf and director of Fremantle’s his series Secret Lives (MTV3), the longest running Finnish daily drama with over 4 300 episodes.

Commenting on her new position at Fremantle, Eskola said she feels like “coming home” due to her earlier involvement in Secret Lives. “Fremantle has a large drama selection and also makes the number one in Finnish daily drama, and this is the perfect environment to develop new Finnish scripted series. I want to use my long experience in drama development and have intensive cooperation with directors and editors,” she said.

This trend can also be seen in Finland, and we want it to continue on this path. We wanted a top drama professional and Seija is exactly the right person for the job! Among Fremantle Finland’s recent scripted series is the acclaimed drama Cargo for which writer/director earned a nomination for the 2021 Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize -Outstanding writing of the Nordic drama series.

The company’s latest high-profile TV show was the Finnish remake of the Norwegian drama Exit which scored on C More Finland when it premiered last fall.
