Danish Below the Surface and Swedish/French Midnight Sun are part of a package deal closed with the streaming giant, granting it exclusive US SVOD rights.
The third show part fo the deal is the UK drama Trust Me produced by RED for BBC.

With the expanding popularity of foreign language series in this key market, we are thrilled to close such a substantial package of premium dramas with an exciting blend of European languages which will be showcased exclusively to U.S. audiences for the first time.”
The eight-part hostage drama Below the Surface starring Johannes Lassen, Sara Hjort Ditlevsen and Paprika Steen, is based on an idea by Adam Price and Søren Sveistrup, written and created by Kasper Barfoed (Dicte). The thriller produced by SAM Productions for Discovery Networks Denmark/Kanal 5 has been acquired by more than 70 territories including BBC Four for the UK and ZDFneo for Germany. Rights in the rest of Scandinavia were licensed to Kanal 5 Sweden, TV Norge and RUV.
Björn Stein and Måns Mårlind’s high concept eight-part crime drama Midnight Sun has also been sold to numerous territories including Sky Atlantic in the UK. The show produced by Nice Drama and Atlantique Productions for SVT/Canal+ is vying for Best Non-English language Drama at this week’s C21 International Drama Summit.
