Among the March supported projects are Runge’s Burn All My Letters and Hlynur Pálmason’s Godland that each received NOK 2.5 million in production funding.

    Logline: Based on the best-selling eponymous book by Alex Schulman and set in three different timelines the early 1930s, 1980s and present time, the story weaves together three perspectives into a story of love and tragedy that overwrites both time and space.

    The film is Björn Runge’s much anticipated return to Swedish-language filmmaking after the Golden Globe winning film The Wife. Current partners include Danish co-producer Meta Film, Film i Väst, SVT, the Swedish Film Institute and SF Studios which will handle distribution in the Nordics. Filming is due to start in August, with cast and crew to be announced before the summer.

    Logline: The horror film centres on a young woman who is attacked in her dreams by an ancient nightmare demon, whom she must fight to save herself, her boyfriend and our entire waking world.

    The Nightmare is co-produced by Handmade Films in Norwegian Woods, with co-financing from Zefyr Media Fund, Bergen Municipality, Nordisk Film (handling Nordic distribution), and support from the Norwegian Film Institute. Filming is due to start June 1st until July 10, 2021. The premiere is set for the fall 2022.

    Logine: Based on Jenny Jägerfeld's acclaimed novel of the same name, Comedy Queen centres on Sasha (13) who refuses to cry despite suffering from immeasurable sorrow. She decides to become a stand-up comedian. Her goal is to make everyone laugh again, especially her father.

    The film is co-produced by Film i Väst, SVT and SF Studios, with support from the Swedish Film Institute. SF Studios will handle the release in the Nordics. Filming is due to start May 4, 2021.

    Logline: tells the story of a 16-year-old Eveliina, whose world collapses when she finds out about her mother’s extramarital affair with a woman. Eveliina supports feminism, open sexualism and body positivity but her views don’t apply to her parent.

    The film was backed by MTV3/C More and the Finnish Film Foundation.Filming took place between February 1st and March 9. The premiere is set for later this year.

    Logline: Coming-of-age story about Florida’s most dedicated dance team for women over 60 – the Calendar Girls. A dance documentary that shakes up the outdated image of “the old lady” and shows the deep human need for creativity and friendship. The film co-produced by SVT, received co-financing from RÚV in Iceland and VGTV in Norway. Folkets Bio will handle the theatrical release in Sweden. Calendar Girls is currently in the editing stage. The premiere is set for this fall.

    Logline: The 2008 financial crisis hit Iceland hardest. All banks went bankrupt and Britain used the Act of Terror. People demanded answers. Confused MP’s prevented a sovereign default, and launched investigations. Iceland handed out several prison sentences and paid debts. But was the truth found?

    The film developed with BBC Storyville, received co-financing from RÚV, SVT, VPRO, and DR, support from the Icelandic Film Centre and the Ministry of Industry and Innovation in Iceland. The premiere is set for October 2021.
