Christina Rosendahl’s WW2 drama The Good Traitor produced by Nimbus Film has a strong US hook through the real-life story of Henrik Kaufmann (played by Ulrich Thomsen), the Danish ambassador in Washington who in 1939, declared himself to be the only true representative of a free Denmark in opposition to the Nazis. The film just nabbed nine nominations at the Danish Robert film awards including Best Film.
Ole Christian Madsen’s The Day We Died (retitled Powder Keg for the US release) stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lars Brygmann, Albert Arthur Amiryan and Adam Buschard as four individuals caught up in the terrorist attack that shook Copenhagen in 2015. The film was produced by Creative Alliance.
Peter Goldwyn, President of the major Indie distribution outfit Samuel Goldwyn Films said: “We are very happy to be releasing these two thrilling films from REinvent Studios, and we are certain that US audiences will love them as much as we do. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is fierce as always in Powder Keg and Ulrich Thomsen performs brilliantly in The Good Traitor.”
Helene Aurø, Sales & Marketing Director at REinvent Studios said her company is “very pleased to cooperate with Samuel Goldwyn Films on these two films that “prove their ceaseless relevance to international audiences”.
REinvent Studios is the global distributor of all SF Studios films and the two titles were both released domestically by the Scandinavian giant.
Samuel Goldwyn is also the US distributor of Thomas Vinterberg’s Danish Oscar entry Another Round.
