The sales company will be premiering two completed Danish films at the market, and unveil images of seven upcoming features and two series with cinematic quality.
The two young-oriented features Pretty Young Thing and Nothing will be showcased at exclusive buyers only screenings in Cannes.
Set in a boarding school, Pretty Young Thing (Smuk) boasts a strong cast of up-and-coming Nordic actors including Andrea Gadeberg (Riders of Justice), Sylvester Byder (Deliver Us) and Albert Rudbeck (Another Round). The SF Studios production is directed by Tilde Harkamp (Hunting Season) based on a script by Line Mørkeby. The Danish premiere is set for September.
Nothing (Intet) is a coming of age thriller based on a Danish best-seller. Director Trine Piil has co-directed the feature with US director and actors’ coach Seamus McNally.
The Danish/German co-production between Film & Lydholm and Komplizen Film will be released in Denmark by SF Studios May 19.
REinvent’s promo-reel will present fresh images from four Norwegian and three Swedish films, all lined up for a Q4, 2022 release except Niels Gaup’s The Riot, scheduled for Q3, 2023.
Among the anticipated films are Burn All My Letters by Björn Runge starring Bill Skarsgård, Asta Kamma August and Gustav Lindh, the sci-fi adventure UFO Sweden produced by the Swedish collective Crazy Pictures and Storm by rising Norwegian talent Erika Calmeyer, starring Ane Dahl Torp.
New pick-ups include the English-Norwegian language Dark Windows, added to the sales company’s genre label REinvent Chills. The US-set horror thriller by Alex Herron (Leave) will be released by SF Studios later this year.
REinvent will also bring a teaser of the C More/TV4 series Evil (Ondskan) co-directed by Erik Leijonborg (Hamilton) and Daniel Di Grado (Jordskott) from Jan Guillou’s best-selling novel, and a promo of SVT’s The Lost (Försvunna människor). The drama thriller is created and written by Ulf Ryberg (Headhunters).
“We are thrilled to introduce to buyers our eclectic film slate and two brand new series," said Helene Aurø, sales and marketing director. "We felt we could add the series Evil and The Lost to our promo-reel as they are of high quality, with a true cinematic feel, and find a natural place among our features.”
The REinvent team headed by CEO Rikke Ennis will be based at 7 rue Florian in Cannes.
