The high-paced thriller Trace (8x45’) stars Madelena Sousa Helly-Hansen (Edderkoppen), Seda Witt (Exit, 22 July), Gard Eidsvold (In Order of Disappearance, Wisting) and Per Egil Aske (Eyewitness, The Tunnel).

We follow Monica Wollman (33) as she is preparing for a top position at the country’s leading cyber security company, when someone steals her identity and hacks into the country’s most vulnerable infrastructures. As Monica tries to find out who is behind the cyber-attack, she realises that she is not the person she thought she was, and someone is using her. She must learn who she really is to avenge.

The series currently in production was co-financed and co-produced by REinvent which also handles global sales. The show will be delivered Q2, 2023 to Altibox.

Outlier, the first series part of the deal with Shuuto Arctic was a hot title with international buyers, such as HBO Nordic, VRT that bought it for Belgium, SBS for Australia and Global Series Network for the U.K.

REinvent International Sales will introduce a teaser trailer at Mipcom Cannes next week.

The sales company is heading off to the international co-production and entertainment market with some of the most anticipated series from the Nordic region, including five new completed shows.

Two premium shows were commissioned by SVT.

  • The Big Fix (Spelskandalen) premiered September 12 on the Swedish pubcaster and ranked second among top shows of the week in Sweden. The gambling drama created by Dennis Magnusson for Nexiko stars Björn Eigerd (Top Dog), Josefin Asplund (Snow Angels) and Eva Melander (Border).
  • The Lost (Försvunna människor) due to premiere November 7 on SVT, is a thriller created by Ulf Ryberg (Headhunters) for Unlimited Stories. The main cast includes Peter Viitanen, Ville Virtanen and Sandra Stojiljkovic.

Two other series produced by Swedish fast-expanding outfit Breakable Films are directed and written by Lina Åström (So Damn Easy Going):

  • Sleep Around (Ligga) is a youth LGBT+ series starring feminist activist and actress Ulrikke Falch (Skam). The 8x22’ relationship drama produced Breakable Films with Art & Bob Television premiere on Discovery+ last December.
  • Out of Touch (Handen på hjärtat) co-written by Åström with Marja Nyberg is due to premiere on C More later this year. The 6x22’ romantic drama stars Sara Shirpley (UFO Sweden) and Hannes Fohlin (With One Eye Open).

Also new to the market as a finished series is the Danish youth drama Boys (Drenge), created by rising star Jonas Risvig, which received rave reviews when it premiered in August on Viaplay. The coming of age based on Risvig’s own experience of growing up in a small Danish town stars Dar Salim, Viktor Hjelmsø and Sylvester Byder.

REinvent will also introduce to buyers, season 5 of the hit Danish series The New Nurses, and a promo of the Swedish series Evil. The spin off TV drama based on Jan Guillou’s best-selling novel, was first adapted as a film, nominated for an Academy Award. The series co-directed by Erik Leijonborg (Hamilton) and Daniel di Grado (Jordskott) is due to premiere on TV4/C More in 2023.

REinvent’s team headed by CEO Rikke Ennis will be available at Mipcom Cannes market at P3.B13 with a large list of series as well as feature films from SF Studios.
